Common Sense Media rates ChatGPT for Teens an “unacceptable risk”
Common Sense Media’s Youth AI Safety Institute tested more than 4,000 prompts before and after the teen features launched. It found missed crisis referrals and no parental alerts during explicit crisis conversations on more than a dozen newly linked accounts. Axios interviewed the evaluators and OpenAI; OpenAI disputed aspects of the testing, including when parent-linked accounts become eligible for alerts.
